The best 3 options to watch Newsmax TV without cable are Pluto, Sling and Fubo TV. But stick around because we will tell you the reasons your streaming choice matters.
Donald Trump’s presidency has helped three major cable news networks in gaining viewers. Through their morning to night coverage of the president’s actions, Fox News, CNN and MSNBC experienced an increase in audience ratings.
However, after the recent presidential elections, another cable news network is getting attention with its pro-Trump headlines and opinions. This network is Newsmax TV and its quickly becoming a top contender in the market.
If you are a conservative looking for another another news source with differing opinions from Fox News, check out Newsmax TV.
Traditionally, cable is needed to watch Newsmax TV. But we live in different times and you don’t have to have cable with the high monthly bill to watch Newsmax TV.
Pluto TV has Newsmax
Not only does Pluto TV have Newsmax, its free.
One of the best things about Pluto TV is, it’s free. No hidden fees, no add-on purchases and no contracts. Just go to their website or download the Pluto TV app and begin live streaming or watching on-demand movies.
If you don’t want to scroll through hundreds of channels, you can register on the website to personalize your streaming experience. By signing up, you can resume on-demand content exactly where you left off and even save your favorite channels.
There are over 250+ channels, ranging from entertainment channels like TV Land Drama to News channels like Newsmax TV. There are even sports channels and Spanish language channels. Add these to the thousands of on-demand movies and shows, there is a good chance Pluto TV can satisfy the entire family.
However, it isn’t all good news. Pluto TV sustains its cost-free service through advertisements. The long commercials occasionally interrupt your live or on-demand content at the point its getting good. Losing a minute or two doesn’t sound like a lot, but they happen often, disrupting your viewing experience.
Moreover, unlike most streaming services, Pluto TV has no cloud DVR. Local channels are also unavailable, but we show you how to get local channels here.
You can pause on-demand content but not live TV. There is an option to rewind and fast-forward on-demand content, but you’ll still encounter ads before the content resumes.
Streaming devices like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku TV and gaming consoles can access Pluto TV. You can also download the Pluto TV app directly onto your phone.
There are plenty of things to consider before switching primarily to Pluto TV. But if you want to cut expenses and stay updated with current events via Newsmax TV, we think Pluto TV is worth a try.
Newsmax TV on Sling TV
- Blue and Orange; $30/month each + $5/month (News Extra Add-on)
- 3-Day free trial
Sling TV offers two packages: Sling Blue and Sling Orange.
Sling Blue focuses more on news and entertainment channels like Fox News, MSNBC and FX.
Sling Orange focuses more on Sports and Family channels like ESPN and the Disney Channel.
Neither packages offer Newsmax TV in the basic lineup. But for an additional $5 a month, you can purchase the News Extra add-on.
Alongside Newsmax TV, the add-on contains 13 additional channels.
Depending on the area in which you live, you can also access local channels. However, we always recommend purchasing your own quality antenna for your local channels. To understand more about local networks and antennas, read Do Indoor TV Antennas Really Work here.
Which plan you get depends on your family’s preference. If you love sports, you’ll enjoy Sling Orange. But if you want to stay informed on current events, Sling Blue would make more sense.
Both the Blue and Orange plans are $30 a month and offer the News Extra Add-on. But there are more extras available. You can check them out below.

Regardless, both plans provide 10 hours of Cloud DVR storage. You can upgrade this to 50 hours with the Cloud DVR Plus add-on for an extra $5 a month.
The other Streaming Service with Newsmax is Fubo TV
- $64.99/month
- 5-Day free trial
For $64.99 a month, FuboTV’s Family plan provides 118 channels—14 of which are news. Alongside Newsmax TV, you also get others like Newsy, CBSN, Local Now, Fox News and MSNBC.

You can even watch local channels like NBC, FOX and CBS. But again, we recommend purchasing a good antenna for your local channels.
FuboTV tries to makes everyone happy. With its basic channel lineup alone, you get an assortment of sports, entertainment and family channels.
You can stream FuboTV on various devices, ranging from Roku TV, Google Chromecast to mobile devices and desktop browsers.
A great Fubo feature is the 250-hour Cloud DVR storage. With three simultaneous streams, subscribers can record hundreds of shows and movies without worry.
If 250 hours of storage isn’t enough, you can further upgrade this to 1,000 hours for $16.99 a month.
Additionally, for an extra $9.99 a month, you can purchase the Family Share Max Upgrade. With this upgrade, you can have five concurrent streams at home and two on the go.
Does Newsmax have a Free App?
Yes, the Newsmax TV & Web app is readily available for free on Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon TV. Go to the respective TV’s app store and download the app.
Through the app, you can watch live news, check the TV schedules and read news articles.
The app also has thousands of hours of on-demand news and documentaries. Greg Kelly Reports alone offers 190 episodes—the earliest episode dating back to January 2020.
Conclusion
There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the pandemic and the presidential elections. People want to stay informed and they rely increasingly on cable to provide that information.
But just like there are new channels, there are also new ways to watch them.
Sling TV is cheap and customizable. But with two separate plans offering different content, you must consider your preferences before choosing your package.
If you don’t mind the commercial interruptions, Pluto TV is free with hundreds of channels.
FuboTV is the most robust package and the most expensive of the three. The service boasts features and channels that for some, is worth it.
Additionally, if you’re only looking for a way to watch Newsmax TV and you don’t care about the extras, the network app is available for free on both smart TVs and mobile devices.

A friend put me on to Newsmax two months ago. You are part of my answer to get balanced news. Lately, I’ve been getting a “Sorry, problems exist, try later” message when using my Apple TV Newsmax App. Another thing I should mention is that my internet connection thru Spectrum.
I have begun using PlutoTV to get you for today. Who is blocking my Apple TV connection to you? Apple or Spectrum?

Free: Get a Samsung Smart TV; get a good indoor antenna (Antennas Direct) make sure you have WiFi in your home then go to Samsung Network on your TV and scroll down stations until you see Newsmax. No cable service, no fees to watch, just pure streaming for free!!
Good point. Thanks for reading.
Started with Newsmax recently. I’ve found it quite balanced with respect to right/left matters—and FREE!
I do not have cable. We stream and we have Apple TV. Newsmax is what we want to watch but how?
We currently have Comcast. As of today, Newsmax now requires a subscription but the online services don’t tell you how to get it. I’m ready to dump cable and find it another way. Thanks for the help in this article!
Lots if information but doesn’t help me set up my smart roku tv system without spectrum hookup, I canceled my internet because spectrum was forcing blm protestors down our throats, couldn’t turn on spectrum without being preached to by radical Marxist spectrum
just go to http://www.newsmax.com to watch for free…it is that simple!
We have a Samsung Smart TV purchased in 2015. We have no cable, no satellite packages. With WiFi (via CenturyLink, we are rural) we have been getting Newsmax on YouTube Live Streaming. Samsung comes with a YouTube app. We long into YouTube with our account. YouTube saves the most recent items watched on YouTube, so all we do each morning is click on YouTube, then click on NewsMax. Beats seeing the garbage on Good Morning America, etc.
