How To Watch OAN Without DirecTV: Your Best Options

If you’re a DirecTV subscriber with an OAN package you need to read this article. Why? Because on April 2022, DirecTV will no longer offer One America News Network or OAN channel on their platform. 

Based in San Diego, California and owned by Herring Networks Inc., One America News Network has been broadcasting since 2013. Recently, the contract between DirecTV and Herring Networks, Inc. was no longer renewed. Hence, OAN will no longer be on the DirecTV channel list.

However, if you rely on OAN as your main source of news information on TV, it doesn’t have to be a setback. You can watch OAN on streaming platforms Pluto, KlowdTV, Vidgo, and DirecTV Stream Entertainment. Read on to see which service is best for you.

OAN on Pluto

If you are looking for a viable replacement to cable TV and all the associated fees, Pluto TV is a very good option.

Pluto TV is a free “over-the-top” (OTT) or online live streaming service and you heard it right. Pluto TV is free! What makes it more exciting is this free streaming platform carries the One America News Network. Pluto also offers a wide variety of content. 

This live streaming platform, owned by Paramount, is supported by ads. Pluto TV has more than 250 live channels and other on-demand movies and TV shows. This includes Paramount Plus Pick, Star Trek and Black Cinema. Other channels include news, sports, entertainment, kid’s channels and even music. New channels are added frequently like Vevo True School Hip-Hop and CBS News Miami.

You can stream Pluto TV anytime. All you need is a web browser, smart TV, streaming box or stick start watching shows and movies right away. Moreover, you don’t need to sign up, register your email address or input any payment methods.

The only drawback is Pluto TV doesn’t offer a DVR storage feature. There will always be limitations if you are getting a service for free. If you’re thinking of having Pluto TV as a cable replacement, this option may work for you but not for others. You can use Pluto TV as a stand alone service or as a great supplement to another streaming services you already have.

OAN on KlowdTV

You can stream OAN on KlowdTV. This subscription-based platform offers news, sports, and entertainment channels you can watch live. KlowdTV has five different channel package options, and a contract is not a requirement so you have the freedom to cancel your subscription anytime.

The four package options you can choose from are:

• Premium $9.99/mth or $119.88/yr
• Worldwide $4.99/mth or $58.99/yr
• OAN $2.50/mth or $30/yr
• Free
• US Military

The Premium subscription is the highest tier among all options, because it offers free trials, no ads, and 136 live TV channels.

The Worldwide subscription has a free trial, no ads, and 73 live channels.

The OAN subscription has a free trial, no ads, and 70 live channels.

Lastly, you can also get this service for free. You’ll be watching with ads, and has the least number of channels with 55.

Finally, the US Military package is only available for those with a military mailing address. This plan is free, which also includes a free trial but unlike other paid subscriptions, it comes with ads and has only 1 live channel.

You can access KlowdTV on both android and iOS if you prefer to watch using a smartphone or on both Mac and PC if you want it on your computer. It also available on all TV streaming platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire among others.

Currently, KlowdTV offers a unique type of DVR which is called the JumpBack option. JumpBack DVR records all live programs shown on KlowdTV and stores them in their system for 14 days. Subscribers can take a peek at these recordings by selecting a previous date. You can access this feature on your iPhone, iPad, Android Phone, and Android tablet by clicking on the orange date box found above the channels.

To access on AppleTV, click on one of the date options found below the player descriptions. On Roku, scroll below the channel logo display row and select the desired previous date. On Fire TV, Opera TV, Android TV, and Samsung Smart TV, scroll to the right of the guide display. Finally, if you are using a browser, click on the orange date box or the “JumpBack” button found above and below the channels shown in the guide.

KlowdTV has a variety of options and features when compared to Pluto TV. However, if price is a concern, Pluto TV is still free.

OAN on Vidgo

You can stream OAN on Vidgo. Viggo is a relatively new live TV streaming service but a number of features you can enjoy.

Vidgo has more than 95 channels which covers entertainment, kids, lifestyle, news and sports. In addition to OAN, it also offers most known channels like HGTV and ESPN.

However, if you want DVR, Vidgo TV does not offer it but instead has a feature called TV Everywhere to watch on-demand content. This feature allows viewers to watch TV shows on-demand and on the go, and watch their favorite live tv shows even when their 3 simultaneous streams are being used.

Vidgo TV has 3 plans. They are:

• Plus $55/mth (100+ channels)
• Premium $79.95/mth (140+ channels)
• Spanish $30/mth (50+ channels)

All of these options can be streamed Live and in HD quality. Vidgo TV offers a 7-day free trial on all packages.

Vidgo TV is accessible and compatible with iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android smartphones, tablets, Android TV, Roku devices and Amazon Fire TV devices. 

Vidgo offers more channels than KlowdTV and Pluto, but does cost more. It has an easy to use interface with extensive support for multiple platforms.

Like the other streaming services, Vidgo TV has no contracts so you can cancel anytime if the service isn’t for you.

OAN on DirecTV Stream Entertainment

As mentioned earlier, DirecTV will no longer carry OAN on its pay TV platform. However, its streaming service DirecTV Stream, formerly known as AT&T TV, will still offer OAN HD on all of its available packages. 

DirecTV Stream is one of the most expensive options on the market, but it may be the closest experience you get to traditional cable or satellite TV while streaming.

DirecTV stream has 4 packages to choose from. They are:

• Entertainment $69.99/mth (65+ channels ex ESPN, TNT, Nickelodeon, HGTV)
• Choice $89.99/mth (90+ channels ex Entertainment Plus, MLB, NBA, college sports)
• Ultimate $104.99/mth (130+ channels ex Choice, Oxygen, Golf Channel, NHL, Universal Kids)
• Premier $149.99/mth (140+ channels ex includes the other 3 packages + HBO Max, Showtime, STARZ, Cinemax)

Currently, for the Choice, Ultimate, and premier packages, you’ll enjoy Regional Sports Networks with no additional fees.

After initially offering just 20 hours of cloud DVR functionality with each package, DIRECTV STREAM now offers unlimited DVR space on all of its available packages.

Moreover, DirecTV Stream offers a very generous 20 simultaneous streams, which is more than any other streaming service. Do note, only three concurrent streams are allowed if you’re away from home.

Although this may be the most expensive option listed in this article, it is one of the best streaming services for regional sports networks. If you have a bigger budget and want OAN with more sport options, DirecTV Stream is for you.

Does OAN have an App?

Yes, you can download the OAN app from the App Store for iOS users and Google Play Store for Android users. This app enables users to watch news on the go. It has a monthly subscription of $4.99 which will give you access to 24/7 OAN live video stream.

Does OAN Have a Sirius XM Channel?

You won’t find OAN in the Sirius XM list of channels. However, Sirius XM channel carries CNBC, Fox and CNN if you would like to be updated with news and other current issues. Those who prefer just listening to the news, OAN offers an audio app, but only available on Google Play Store for Android users.

Can I get OAN on Amazon Fire Stick?

Yes, you can get OAN on Amazon Firestick. You can easily download the app and log in to your OAN account. If you have chosen to go for KlowdTV, you can access it using your Amazon FireStick, and watch OAN.

Conclusion

Just because DirecTV no longer carries One America News Network, it doesn’t mean you have to go without. More and more people are ditching their cable or satellite subscriptions for streaming.

If you are on a budget, watch OAN on Philo or KlowdTV. They may lack many of the features of other streaming services but they get the job done.

If you have more disposable income, and you want One America News Network with sports, upgrade your viewing experience to either Vidgo or the many options within DirecTV Stream.
